The kids are alright

I get asked this question a lot–How are the kids handling all the change? And the answer is, surprisingly well.

Leaving Maui was tough, no doubt about that. Morgan was 3 months old when we moved there and Noah just over 2–no matter how much I like to pride myself on early birthday parties the fact is that kids just don’t have any memories before like 4 years old. So Maui is the only life they’ve ever known. Their friends, their home, their whole way of life was there and we left that. And that was hard.

The adventures keep us going and the promise of more loved ones to visit, but I will say that as the travels go on the goodbye’s get harder.

It’s just that we love you guys so darn much.

So overall the kids are doing great. We all agree that this is the best trip we’ve ever taken and we’re not even done yet. And we knew that 2018 would be a year of great transition. But please do us the solid favor of coming to visit us in Jersey (or we’ll meet you in Europe!) so we know it won’t be so long before we get to see you again. I hate to see the sad faces. 😢

  1. When do you guys get to the Ithaca area? Can’t wait to see you. Are you camping close by? How long will you be here? Yourvtrip and adventures have been so outstanding and fun to follow.
